i took my jaguar to demo it with in the shop. they got a room where you can crank shit up. maxed it out. loud as all hell.

they had a new maurauder there too. so i took that in and demoed the amp with it too.

with my jag you could sculpt the tone with the volume on 10 with all its switches.

the maurauder sounded great at low volumes but once you got it past 5 on the amp all five notches on the strat switch sounded exactly the fucking same. it was weird. and lame. the guitar also weighed about 10% as much as my jaguar

That's old-school cool. Sounds perfect for the classic Jag circuit.

Make sure you jam your fist in the air and yell EXCELSIOR every time you get a good sound.

I was hunting around for some mudhoney interviews and found that Steve Turner was impressed with his original Excelsior Accordian Amp - http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ptn/mudhon ... 2xxgp.html

each one of my guitars i play thru it sounds completely fucking different. its nuts.

my COUGAR1000 on the other hand sounded like the preset of "90's fender amp" no matter what guitar you plugged into it. it had its own character.

this thing though lets the character of the guitar come out alot more. some guitars break up quicker, my mustang bass hardly breaks up at all.
