the idea of a 15 speaker apeals to me.
and the fact that its a very clean amp also apeals to me.

I know there were some old fender (i think maybe the vibro king) that could be ordered with a 15.... They also made a version of the twin with a 15 ??
They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...

does it have to be a combo? Ampeg & others have pretty cheap 1x15" cabs, closed back, and then you can pair it with whatever head/amp you feel like.

Supro has the Thunderbolt, which is a 1x15" combo amp. and i think there's a Fender Pro w/ 15" speaker.

The twin custom, and the vibroverb both have full tube and 15" speaker but you'll pay out the ass
