NGD. Fender acoustasonic players version (import) and a squier bass vi

Post by mickie08 »

Bought a bass VI up in Santa Rosa while visiting (and a 1965 Olds f85 cutlass) for cheap for shits and giggles....

sold a squire, had a 10% off coupon and a GC left from xmas and ended up with this. acoustasonic players series

They are odd things, but this is a perfect backup for band gigs. I can pull it out to play a coupe "electic songs" here and there and in a pinch use it as an acoustic (thinking string break, etc) Can not complain. These are the indonisian made. Just came out. About 600 list. I had 100 coupon and 100 GC so basically 400 and I sold the squire for 300. So 100 cash.

Plays well out of the box. Need to dial patches into my tonemaster pro for it for both acoustic and electric. Doesnt have near the tonal options the expensive models do BUT, when I had one I kept it simple anyways. It is a cool tool. Been selling gear, getting rid of shit around house/garage and trying to in general slimline life in general with kids leaving and shit... But these were cool additons

here you go. 1965 oldsmobile f85 (not really a cutlass but that is what everyone knows for reference) Cutlass was an options package. It also has 44s badges which it is clearly not since it has single exhaust, automatic, and a v6 (since 442 means 4 barrel, 4 speed, (2)dual exhaust.

Survivor car. Starts and runs but has a few wirinig issues and rear brakes appear to be locked up (new ones arrive today so I can swap them). Came with front end disc upgrade already. says 84K miles. I believe it may be accurate because there is so little wear on some parts

has normal rust issues around rear window. SO some repair needed there. Also trunk pan and front fender and trim needs replaced (which came with it)

Nice. My first car was a 1970 Cutlass S fastback. It had the Rocket 350 and a 2 barrel but could still do a 2nd gear scratch.

cool looking car. looks like it has a crazy big rear end. space for a lot of junk in the trunk.

like, modern pickup levels of boot space

I love that it’s a 2 door sedan, a nice clean look. Great condition for an unrestored car as well.

yep. Can hold many bodies in there (at least once I replace the rusted out trunk pan)

Thanks. That is the best side to be fair. Other side has a dented front fender (though I have a new one) Sucks because i LOVE the patina of it and would love nothing more than to repair a couple spots and just clear coat it. But the fender presents an issue. It MAYBE I can straighten it out if I remove it and pull all the bondo off and re-install it.... But I just do nto know. Need a real body person to look at it.

Bondo is a pain to remove as well, unless it's been poorly applied.
