Not the rotaries.

DRIVE has surprisingly little effect on volume to my ears. If you turn MIX up full and DEPTH (and HRN DEPTH) to zero you get no sound. I don't notice a significant drop in volume except at certain settings of depth and mix, on the M13 but I appreciate it all depends how you want to use something. It does sound like something where you can have a preset chain of effects to boost and/or change EQ would be handy for Rob.

The Line 6 Rotary Machine Tonecore pedal and the Behringer RM600 that largely clones it have the same sort of options; fast speed, slow speed ramp rate, cab emulation, depth, drive; again, no output level control. I use the Tonecore pedal with keyboard and the Behringer is currently unused.

Thank you for making that, you utter beauty. The Leslie sim sounds really good, defo would be happy with that effect. Even better that I can program it to adjust for volume drop etc.

Will defo be getting one of these, because although I love the M5 it’s the Leslie sim that is one of the main effects I use it for.

The selection of noodles and riffs really complimented the Leslie tones, really loved the video. Bonus for the chat with mini hurb-ling too.

Yeah, most of the other effect models have a master level, it’s quite noticeable if I swap from the Leslie to say analog chorus. Big jump in volume when switched to other effects. Most of the other Leslie sims are just stupid money now. And the tone core and Behringer clones are elusive. There’s a danelectro rocky road Leslie sim that occasionally pops up that has the ramp switch too.

Wish i kept my neo mini vent or digitech EX-7.

Wonder if the new helix one has the same volume drop?

A Behringer went on eBay a couple of days ago for Best Offer on a "Buy it now" of £49.99. I should have BINned it. I've seen a mod where you use an external switch and 2 or 3 components to do the "hold switch" thing to change speed.

Yet another downside to the new pedal.

Was about to offer to sell you my EX-7, which hasn't been plugged in over a decade, and checked how much a sensible bro-deal would be based on eBay prices. Fuck me, there is no sensible price.

I did the same and had a look on eBay, even the M5 is nearly £100-150 with out boxes etc

That IS crazy. I got mine for £50, I think, and I think I got my M13 for £140. At the time, I felt I'd overpaid by £20 or so but was keen because it was a Christmas present.

I lent my M5 to a pupil last year who has left the school but still has it.... might need to chase them up...

@Bacchus when you edited out my quoted comment you left the "quote=NickS" bit in. That's where it all went wrong. Unmatched brackets etc.

He probably swapped it for a pack of prime or whatever is down these days 😂

Mine was a lowball best offer that was accepted, came with the box and manuals but now power supply.

Couple of M5s and an M13 at more reasonable prices?

Assuming you mean TR-7 as EX-7 appears to be an expression pedal and TR-7s appear to be silly money?

Ex7 was a multi effect type expression dealing with loads of good stuff, but critically had the XP-300 modelled/recreated. Everything else was good, but that was the thing that you bought it for.

Payday Monday, might get a power supply and get mine going again.

Lord knows my board needs another expression type pedal after the four that are already on there.

Thank you for that link, ads I've seen "Expression pedal" rather than "Expression factory".
Just wondering whether to risk buying a pedal from Scotland.

I did briefly have the TR-7 as well, it was quite a good pedal, but a pain to toggle slow/fast.

When I got the neo mini vent, that kinda slayed the others and I got rid of the rest.

I’ve had quite a few gear selling regrets recently, but at the time it was the best way to settle some of our mounting money worries.

At least recently I’ve been able to grab a handful of pedals that I really missed. Think I’ll be happy once my modulation needs are met.

What do you think of the EHX Lester G (or K)?

I’ve never actually tried them, though some of the YouTube demos sounds pretty good.

I had the boss RT-20 years ago with the crazy rotor lights that was pretty good. The one on GarageBand was pretty good too but it’s missing from the iPad version of GarageBand.

Wouldn’t mind a strymon Lex
