I bought a steel shelving unit from work, cut it in half and built it side by side. Then rubberized the top with a roll of toolbox liner. 1 sheet of pegboard, and all the other part bins from the old house that have been out in the shed for a year. Then I got a surge bar from ALDI that has bright ass LED strip incorporated into it and drilled it upside down onto the shelf. It makes an excellent surgery light. All this together ended up costing me about 110 bucks when if I just bought a real workbench it would have been 300-$400.

I FINALLY HAVE A SPACE TO WORK INSIDE THR HOUSE WHEN THE WEATHER IS TOTAL BALLS 9 MONTHS A YEAR.

Looks good! I’m jealous you have the space. 90% of my work is done outside, with the more delicate chores on the kitchen table.

This whole area was a pile of amps and speakers for the longest time. I took stock of what I had and the ones I needed the least went outside to the Florida room off the garage and are actually being used now. So like the back yard has a solid gate but I don't lock it, and the door to the room isnt locked either. So anyone really can just walk in and have at that stuff it they really wanted to. But you can't see it from the street or anything. Risk assessment of me moving things to insecure area to make space usefull and productive to my own mental health I can work on this shit instead of stressing about life.

Nice work, I'm with plops in the envy. I clear off my recording desk and lay down a towel when I want to work on guitars which works ok, but having all the tools in arm's reach has to make setup and breakdown a breeze.

Does that back room just not have a lock, or it's not being locked?

Looks great Rob, also jealous of such a well organised and year round useable workspace.

Situation out back. The room is literally all windows with a screen door. So even if I lock the door there are 12 other points of entry including simply popping the screen and sliding thru the locked door lol.

+1

Me too.. and I don't live in Texas, so outdoors = WET / COLD.

I have the same desk for my day job and the pedals. Have had to be pretty creative with shelving and storage for both to coexist. Getting two racks of component draws changed my life.
