Whut is this pickguard for?

Post by NickS »

A pickguard/scratchplate my son bought for his Squier Strat (which needs an 8-hole pickguard so this doesn't work too well anyway. He intended to use the bigger hole for a humbucker but there's no way to secure it.

Is the neck cutout for a P90? Do they screw into the body so you don't need mounting holes in the pickguard?

Thanks for that, Paul. I see that's the Kinman dimensional diagram; I didn't know how the soapbars were mounted.

Nah, actually. Too big for a minibucker.

Ah, sorry, didn't realise that was the question. Yep, the two middle screws that aren't polepieces go into the body, unless they're dogears, in which case that's what the dogear is for.
