Just won on eBay. My sister is collecting tomorrow, and I should have it by Monday. I can't wait to become 2001 Daron Malakian.

First NGD on here I've been bothered about since one of mine. Amazing stuff Freddy.

Love these.
I
thought it looked smaller, but the body could be made from literally anything?
The ICX220 features a more compact body than the typical Iceman. Other differences from the typical Iceman models include the master volume and tone controls rather than the individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, a non-mahogany body without binding, no set-in neck joint and 24 frets.

Well, not
anything. I mean, it's definitely
not mahogany. Which narrows it down somewhat.

Trying to find a clip of Stewart Lee's bit about Rimpey's Fags, Foods and Non-Foods.

Nice one Freddy. And it doesn't have the weird plate behind the bridge too.

One of my pals used to have one of these. It was actually really good to play. Ibanez innit, so all their stuff is well made from the bottom to the tippity-top.

I love mystery!
Yeah, it's a slightly smaller body. I decided it makes sense as I'm only a little man, plus I've struggled with heavy guitars in the past. I'm intending to use this on tour with Thank in February, so I can't have a giant guitar weighing me down and preventing me from doing all my
cool moves. Plus, the lower horn on this smaller body shape is somewhat less phallic, which I think is for the best.
I hadn't ever owned an Ibanez before I got my TMB30 bass last year, and it plays/sounds great, leagues ahead of any other "budget" bass I've played. So I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about this one.

hardcore sad sack
Looks sick as fuck, man, especially with that black-chrome-black colourscheme; always liked Icemans. Icemen. Icemanses.
Not sure on the usual Ibanez headstock on this one, but I guess subtlety is not the order of the day here. It's kinda making me want this "radioactive piss"-coloured acrylic thing:

Honestly I think the pointy headstock on mine is more subtle/tasteful than the 3-a-side one on the current line of Icemen. But you're the second person to point it out, so perhaps I'm way off base.
I can't believe you're even hesitating to buy that Wesley.

I noticed the headstock. I think I just associate that headstock with RG and similar superstrats, and expect an Iceman to have something a bit more LPey.

If I'd have gone for a brand new one we'd be looking at one of these enormous headstocks.

Oooh, they do a supershortscale one with a 22" scale.

The others, I can see no discernible difference, except that two of the three have abalone binding, and one doesn't?

Finally got hold of this last night. No "proper" photos yet, but here's a very silly mirror selfie I took when it first arrived.

First impressions are good. I was expecting to have to overhaul the setup, but it's really not far off. I imagine I'll tweak it a bit over the next month or so (and/or possibly even go for a pro setup), but it's absolutely playable, and I plan to take it to band practice tomorrow night. Haven't had chance to play plugged in yet, but unplugged it feels good. Much thinner neck than I'm used to, but not in a bad way - I was slightly concerned the neck would feel similar to my old BC Rich Warlock, which I never really gelled with. It has a bit of neck dive, but not an unmanageable amount, especially with a heavy duty guitar strap.
