So like. I kinda feel like I bought this strat with these pickups, with this paint, I would just end up playing this for the rest of my life and not touch any of my other guitars. And that would make me sad. So I'm not getting it. Cuz fuck strats

Very much the "we thought one rattlecan would cover it" finish.

The new one is 3 tone, so I think that's what does it for me. After a second look, tho, I'd ditch the wide range in the bridge with an aged white humbucker. The chrome doesn't do it for me in this context.

What are those fat pickups on the Tele? I've seen them before but never bothered to find out. Are they different in construction that the regular Fender single coils?

That's the only good thing about this whole guitar.

If it's one of the CUNIFE ones, they're absolutely incredible.

The Tele had humbuckers in it. These were CBS last attempt to “modernize the old lineup.

Thanks, so they are mini humbuckers I suppose. I've tried to google their guts, didn't find anything

disagree completely, but my pushback on the wide range here is aesthetic. the chrome humbucker next to two two aged white pickups looks off in this setting. i can't seem to find wide ranges in anything except chrome -- is the only option to get a cover? i also thought about the idea chrome for the singles instead, but i prefer the plastics on strats for some reason... still might be worth a look in all chrome.

i'd also prefer a white or black pickguard to the minty/parchment thing they have there, now that i look at it on a 24" monitor vs. my phone.

the three tone from lake placid blue to daphne is the bees knees, tho. just needs a better hardware selection.

^that's not actually a bad concept, would love to see it in practice. this idea for a second warmoth guitar i've been noodling about has me thinking i might revisit the red/white/blue stripey concept (a la buck owens) i considered a now-defunct bronco build. i'd do the paint in scumbag sparkle, though, i think.

i agree it looks like shite, but the whole guitar does to me - however those pickups sound LOVELY
