I’m sure someone has done or at least attempted this, but Tele style saddles in a 60’s DS or MM bridge/tailpiece. Do it work?

I just ordered some, I'll let you know how it goes. This could very well be one of those things that everyone knows but me.

Why I'm asking is that I am meeting with a local fabrication place about doing a run of 30-50 old school tail pieces since they sell for $3,000 each on ebay now.

Planning on selling them at cost to my shortscale homies.

No, I haven't a clue either.

matt is looking to change the saddles/bridge on his CV duo. it's currently got the old school three saddle setup which isn't giving him enough control over each string. does anyone know if there's a conversion kit for a strat-style (hard tail) bridge or if there's another solution to get control over six strings individually?

Watch all the videos I made for the Alstang build. It will answer all your questions

I build a bridge with toronado plate plus telecaster saddles

I haven't heard back from the fabrication place yet but I'm wondering if doing some of them that would work with the vintage style, 6 saddle tele bridge pieces would be worth it.

Image

The cork sniffers over at tdpri didn't have a very high opinion of them.

Thoughts?

If it's top loader won't work. You need to drill 3 new holes for the saddle posts and the strings go in the old saddle screw holes.

I can take close up photos of the Padmé bridge if you want.

I don't get home until 10 tho. Maybe Al can photo the Alstang bridge. It's the same shit

If I'm having these made, I can have them do the holes how ever I want.

if you do decide to go this route, let me know how you find the results. i don't think matt likes the smell of corks.
