I was going to wait and post this when I was further down the road since I'm infamous for taking DECADES for projects but I was too exited.

24 scale, I’ll do two pups too.

My goal is to do my own neck. That should be completed in September of 2132.

That is dope. By the by, if you decide to go with an already made neck BYO guitars now offers Jag necks to your own specs for a relatively reasonable price

I'm more curious about that 9.5 inch radius you've been bragging about.

oh, that could be quite useful.

I have 4 body blanks total, I might do another duo sonic as well (and a Jazzmaster and an Esquire...)

Update time.

I was making more templates with my template when I had the router slip and take a big ol' honkin' chunk out of the control cavity. While I was salvaging it I discovered some issues with the center line alignment so I started again.

Here's the new templates.

The control cavities for the volume/tone/output and the slider switches up top are deeper than the pickup routes so I put those in their own template. I have some indexing screw holes drilled that will help line everything up when I do the actual routing.

The next step is to do the actual body blank, but frankly, I'm a little terrified. I might build up one with some cheap board and do a full on test run before I use my good two piece alder body blank.

So a while back I redid my pickup routing template.

I made one with pieces that slot in so I can do the deeper routes for the controls and then the shallow pick up cavities

Today I cut out the new Swinger template, I felt like it wasn't quite right so I did a tracing based on internet photos.

There were a couple of gouges I had to fix after I routed the template so I thought I'd cut out a new Duo Sonic template.

Image

That went so well I cut out the body.

I'm super psyched that I didn't fuck up. Ready to do more next weekend.
