Hey! Venus!

Post by simonhpieman »

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd use my first ever post to ask about my surf green Venus.

I'm looking to get a new pickguard. Any colours/suggestions? Any good pickguard makers you know of in the UK?

Also looking to go single neck pickup wired straight to output jack, so would love some suggestions on that as well...

Thanks!

Welcome though.

I have two Venuseseses: a green six string and a black XII. Ace guitars.

Miss my olde Green one. Was awesome.

The stock neck pup sounded magical. The humbucker was proper naff.

Yeah, always thought the neck pick up sounded lush.

Quite a few people on here used to make decent scratchplates didn't they? Perhaps US posters, though.

Ah yes, I've spoken to Mr Dubreuille on Facebook. Almost legendary! I'm in the East End but I'll definitely get in touch with him, I hear nothing but good stuff.

Also, thanks for moving the thread...

Sorted now. This thread has easily been a total disaster for me!

Had the Venus since 2001. I THINK it had sat unsold in the shop for ages. Was reduced to £199. Teenage Pieman thought a furry green strap was the perfect free accessory too...
