I like the Mustang Bass bridge aesthetically speaking, but all it does functionally is make it harder to find strings for your bass.
I buy my strings online, so that's not a problem for me. I use medium scale bass strings on my mustang, which of course don't exist for sale anywhere other than on the internet.

I do find that string-through-body bridges sound better to my ears, although that could just be a psychological illusion.

And of course the Mustang bass bridge just looks cool... :D

Anybody know when these will be available for purchase?
when I had my mustang bass I bought a pack of fender bass VI strings and strung it up with, .75s on the low E. it played just like a 4 string baratone. I loved it

Again? I don't think those sold well either, although they were very nice guitars (as Gusman has said).
Not this one they did.

Something like this would sell well IMO. The Strat/Tele/Basses/Jazzmasters/Jaguars/Mustangs classic vibe/vintage modified guitars sold well from what I understand.

it'll probably end up being close to $900 canadian when they get here..
so who knows, but i want one.
and i've a 60's duo sonic ii neck on one of my jaguars at the moment.. so a neck swap could end up happening (depending on what spec they use for these new ones)
Unfortunately likely, I love my maple mustang neck and kind of regret letting the b2kua jag go with the maple neck it had. I'm guessing $750 cad, and is don't see many selling so used is basically a lost cause. Shame, it would look great beside the 70's stang...

ehh, kind of turned off the jazz bridge/p neck pickup combo

might as well just be p bass only. if that's how we get a jazz neck on a p bass body though, fine. but people will dig it, maybe

I don't like PJ with the J control panel, but the 3-way switch means that it'll sound as good as any Precision out there.

That's a Mustang neck on a Mustang body isn't it?

it would be interesting to see how well a proper run of duos would sell.

Now that I see this pic, I see that there would be no room for a vintage style mustang bass bridge due to the jazz pickup, as someone here already mentioned.

I'm curious to see if there are any colours other than white... that olive colour from the hardtail mustang would be cool.

The bass is available in white, sonic blue and Torino red.

All the new Fender NAMM stuff appears to be listed on this Canadian website:

http://www.lamusic.ca/New-Fender-from-S ... s/1028.htm

Not many of them have pictures yet though.

These are Pawn Shop series guitars without that designation / marketing. I think that they are cool. And I think that, like the Fender Pawn Shop Super-Sonics, they will be blown out in two years for half price.
The PS Super-Sonics were $799, and they were marked down to $350 two years later. So, patience.
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

These remind me of those cheap Korean mustang/duo sonic copies from a few years back that sold for like $85.
