yes i know, i go on and on about the fucking ano pg, anyway

my question: will a '57 anodized precision bass pickguard fit on an Am.Standard LEFTY ( ) precision ? i've been googling up some pictures and it really seems like it's possible, ok, there's only 10 holes instead of 13, and extra holes for the thumbrest, but that doesn't bother me, .. maybe some of you may know someone who's tried it and wether it worked or not, blahblah...

nice..

but will it fit on this one ? (*drum roffle*)
it kinda looks gold-ish in this picture though...

Re: the pickguard - my only concern would be if the edges were bevelled - if they are then they'll be backwards when flipped.

This thread was about a pickguard? But a girl posted a pic...

I cant think of any potential problems other than the bevelled edge. if its straight you should be fine. At worst you'll have to make a few new screw holes.

big deal, haha.

anyway, yeah..if it's got bevelled edges....it'll have the non-bevelled side up then, but that doesn't bother me, it's a small detail, as long as the pg fits, about the holes for the screws.. ten instead of thirteen, so it'll just cover some of the holes, no prob, extra holes for the thumbrest.. no prob either, the white pg bores me.
the pickups of a '57 bass and an am. stndrd bass are on the same spot too as far as i know so that'll be fine too, now i'm just real curious for it to arrive (thanks for the thomann.de tip in another thread btw).

DELAYED RESPONSE.

My (CIJ) anodized Jazzo guard is not beveled, is polished slick, and is ultrathin, for errr..... my pleasure. Hole issue aside, I think it should fit just fine when flipped, and will certainly look HOT.

for starters, that P-bass is sex0-riffic. i covet it! that's probably my next bass purchase...unless a great deal on a jagbass comes way...

and i have to say this: female musicians immediately get a 15% boost in their strokeability scale rating. why? because you just don't see many of them outside of a high school band class. and when they choose a rock instrument? fork yeah!

there's this goth/indust/prog band out here called call me alice that i used to be really good friends with. their bass player and lead singer are chicas. and i didn't care for their music all that much...and it's not like the BP was all that hot, but watching her play the bass was like "WOAH" Joey Lawrence style.

all that being said:

let us know how the PG turns out. i love the anodized look myself. those candy apple red P's with the anodized PGs are titties. but i think i like the blue wiht ano better myself.

Let's make a list of female bassists!

I'll go first:

Melissa Auf der Maur
D'arcy from Smashing Pumpkins
The girl from Hole who died
The chick from A Perfect Circle and Zwan
Gore Gore Girls have had 3 female bassists
Kate Bush
The bassist from The Organ
KIM FUCKING DEAL
The Breeders have had at least one female bassist
The Cramps have had no less than 3 female bassists

Let's make a list of male bassists. I'll go first:

EVERY FUCKING OTHER BAND EVER.

So yeah, i'd say my point is totally valid. Dude, you're losing all over this board today. How's that feel?
