Nice. Really pretty grain on that. The price is a little high for the USA, but would be good value if it were over here.

It looks to be in pristine condition, maple board and OHSC.

Does the $1100 include shipping? If it includes shipping it might be okay. (unless you are in SF)

There was a maple stang in Refin'd sunburst on Dallas CL for $950, but this one looks original.

I arrive there on Friday night. A client is supposed to pay me first thing Friday morning. If they actually do it, and I can make it to the bank before my flight leaves, then I can afford it.

Otherwise, this is just wishful thinking.

I wouldn't blame you for taking a shot at it. Looks like a real gem.

This mustang has been on the sf craigslist for quite some time. At least 3 weeks.

Which tells me the price is a little on the high side.

You might offer a little lower and see if they would take it. Maybe $950 or $1000.

Ash is not maple. Maple is not ash. Ash is not maple. Maple is not ash...

Of course. but maple fretboard Mustangs are unusual enough that referring to it by that feature is completely acceptable. The same goes for Jaguars and Jazzmasters.

Maplestang is a phrase for a mustang with a Maple Fretboard. It has nothing to do with the body.

Haggle where possible, I'm a big fan of the neck, after having mine restored (beat up when I bought it on ebay) it is one of the most comfortable that I own.

I tried unsuccessfully to trade for a 1976 Maplestang in refinished sunburst on CL here in Dallas. It's still there.

I hope to own a Maple-stang at some point down the road.

Fender seemed to only make Maplestangs with a sunburst or clear Ash finishes. There might be other combinations but I have not seen them.

I didn't realize it was such a wide variety of finishes.

No that I think about it, I have seen Maplestangs in mocha before.
