I have been using a Sonic Research model ST-200 Turbo Tuner pedal (stomp box) for about 10 months now. It is a true strobe tuner for a lot less than anything comparable. It regularly gets great reviews from professional luthiers, etc, who really know and depend on strobe tuners. It is great for setting intonation accurately and for everyday tuning. It is available for $129.99, direct from the manufacturer. Tuning is very fast and very accurate. And it is very flexible and programmable. Here is a video demonstration from Sonic Research:

I really like mine a lot. My "ears" have improved because the Turbo Tuner display doesn't confuse me like the typically jumpy needles on chromatic tuners. Here is the Sonic Research website link:

The model ST-122 acoustic model has been unavailable for a long time. Last time I checked, they were re-tooling the mold for the case. But that was a long time ago.
Has anyone else here tried these? If so, how did you like it?
