little help
hey shortscale.
i'm not much of an amp kid, i actually know sweet f.a. about them
just what i like. and i like a good clean channel that i can overdrive.
gives me nice lows, and mids, plus harsh highs (i like twang, what of it?)
but it also needs to be versatile.
as in, i can use it in Zero Cool (black flag meets descendants punk rock but we talk about shit like we're propagandhi), Serf X (my experimental noise projects.. then melvins meets sonic youth vs Liars meets noCore), or just my folk/alt-country stuff (Woody Guthrie, Wilco, etc..)
due to some of this i've never been a fan of marshall amps, however, after spending much time on youtube watching mikes demos, i think one could work
my current rig is a fender fm100 (aka the cheapest half stack money can buy) and i'm sort of happy with it, but i need something that can give me more growl, and also not solid state so that i can overdrive it in a pinch.
thoughts? suggestions?
am i insane?
main guits for playing
----
Zero Cool = 1965 stock fender mustang, 1974 modified fender mustang, modified squier Telecaster (short scale)
Serf X = Fender Jaguar HH, Squier Jagmaster, Modified Jagmaster to JAzzmaster
j. ralnyk = Fender Telecaster Elite, Ibanez PF acoustic (with rails pick up), Harmony Les Paul.
