on either channel, fuzzes become very muddy. it upset me at the time, as i'd grow so fond of my tonebender. regardless of how i set the amp or pedal, it wouldn't sit right. only my duo-fuzz worked well with it, though there was still a little mud there.

never messed with a tonebender before..... I run mainly Big Muffs and occassionally a Fuzz Face... it may just be a matter of taste... I am not into the peircing noise making fuzz but more the wall of fuzz rythym sounds and some super sustaining solo tones.... I do not find mine to be any muddier than the same pedals where on my Peavey Classic 30.....
and my Hoof Sounds money, as it should, thru it too..... it retains its clarity, at least for a BMP variant....
I may have to slap a Tone Bender together and give that a go....What Bender were u sporting?

That's a homemade board to the dimensions of a pedaltrain nano. Think of that kinda size, but with a removable angled t end for wah use and space underneath for the power brick.

Still waiting on that, it'll be so boss
contemplating on building some muffs for myself. The Eau Claire Thunder is delightful and its been used loads with my new band, but I want to try some more "tame" muffs. Not that the ECT can't be tame, the PGS video shows that plenty, but most of my enjoyment from it comes from leaving the feedback on [mine has a latching footswitch] and stepping on it for feedback frenzied fuzz solos. Definitely building a Great Destroyer for bass use too, I have a schematic made up to use the other side of TGDs dual op amp chip to run two in in series.
The m13 is still freaking amazing, lots of use in recording so far. I would never see myself buying a phaser or a vibe or especially a pattern tremolo, but having so many effects on tap has been indispensable for writing ideas.
The honeybee is going to the classifieds, it doesn't have enough bite for what I'm playing and writing. Its a lovely low end OD and I may try some different clipping leds before I let go of it.
god i love pedals

Yeah out of all the pedals I build Muffs are my favorite...there the most fun...If your gonna get into muffs download the Duncan Tone Stack calculator if you have not already....Haze wrote:Still waiting on that, it'll be so boss

I took a couple of shots while I was playing around with stuff this morning. I am thinking of getting a behringer tremolo pan pedal and reverb machine as well. I'm also thinking about maybe adding a buffer to help with the sound as well.

working left to right - SMMwH, Starcaster Chorus, Shaftsbury Duo Fuzz, Tim Hulio HiFi pedal, MBM TB3, Small Stone, Tuner, Cry Baby (playing about with order today)

the duo is loud
, I'm still playing with it but really like it. Its been some time since I've played with a chorus but for the money its pretty good. A lot of different sounds in there especially with the amount of controls on there. with the Jazzmaster on the bridge pickup its jangle-tastic. I might do some of the mods already posted for it.
My favourite thing though at the moment is the SMMwH or the small stone with the HiFi pedal from Tim, it sounds like an early 70s synth and you can get some crazy sounds from it.

This made me think that they should release "the most destructive tuner ever". It'd be a great marketing thing if anythingHaze wrote:I could also easily go all Dwarfcraft

I get all my cabling for my board soon! I've never had every bit of gear hooked up so it'll be interesting to have all the loose ends tied no pun intended. I'm also looking at modding two of my pedals, getting another One-Spot and thinking of investing in either a volume pedal or ebow. I'm thinking a VP but I hate f-king with my chain because every time I do I need to remove or add another pedal to make it sound right.
