I aim to displease.

The other lad in Happiness is a fan of filming absolutely everything he ever does so I should imagine so.
i look forward with anticipation of seeing it next week then :)

I haven't posted an update here in a while, but here's a photo taken last night at our studio/practice space. It was taken with my phone in low light, so it's pretty terrible -- but you get the idea.

Image
Pictured: Classic Player Jaguar (with AVRI pickups, thank you very much) -> Boss TU-2, EHX POG2, EHX Germanium O.D., EHX Big Muff NYC, MXR Distortion+, EHX Stereo Pulsar, EHX Small Clone, and Boss RE-20 Space Echo -> '73 Fender Vibrosonic Reverb.
Moog Little Phatty Stage -> EHX Memory Toy -> PA system with 18" JBL full-range speakers.

I've made a few changes to the board since the last update. I've found I don't use the EHX Micro Synth with this band as much since getting the Moog, and I like to have a bit more aggressive sound than the SD-1 can give me. I keep the Germanium O.D. on pretty much all the time with a slightly voltage-starved setting to trash up my clean sound a bit, then use the Big Muff to drive things off the cliff when appropriate. I kind of aped the Big Muff into Distortion+ idea from Steve Turner, who used them in this way the last time I saw Mudhoney a few years back; it sounds great. I haven't used the Big Muff regularly in a band in years, and it's awesome to have it back on the board again. I'd really like to try out the Bass Big Muff, as I dig the clean blend option it has.

it's taken me a while to get used to it, but i really like it. the display is great and adjusts to how light or dark the stage is. smaller than my old tu-2 and less noisy. i thought i was faulty, as it was buzzing inline with other pedals, but that turned out to be a problem with my power supply. i'd recommend one, there not that expensive for so much tuner. i do still forget it's polyphonic sometimes, but it don't matter, it's fast and accurate at switching between poly/mono modes.

I really like it, loads of volume and punch, a complete world away from the stock pup it had. I should really put a meter on it and check it's output.

bloody great wah sound, better than my old crybaby was. plus it's bling. did an exchange with the company i got the micro chorus from. dead friendly and kept me up to date. i think that and my cool cat drive will make a nice little gig board.

Tell me it wasn't a straight swap, Rob, or I'll have to phone them like an angry parent...

Nice wahs, though - I've got an older one like it. Iffy bypass, mind.

I just didn't want the hassle of refunds and re ordering from another company.

Please do this next time. You just threw away money in what amounts to laziness.

As a consumer you have the right to ask for your money back. Do so.
