If I’ve managed to do this right, they’re should be a picture of my pedalboard from the last time I tried to assemble one.

Most of the time i just plug straight into my little Marshall MG10, which for being the cheapest combo they do, sounds bloody good for home use.

The power supply i used to have on went in the gear purge along with my last custom shop strat 😭

So would love to get a nice fuzz face type pedal
on there and get a new isolated supply for it all.

It's well worth picking up an expression pedal for the M5. Reeeally opens it up.

There're cheap ones that can be easily modded to work with it:

I had an M5 around 2015 and sure I kept the expression pedal I brought with it. Fuck knows where it’s gone.

I’ll have a look on evil bay for a cheapie one, it’s the best way to control the ramp of a Leslie sim aka NickS

Which MBM pedal is that? I remember the graphic.

Which one? There are three on Rob's board there. The Star Wars one is a Dirty Little Secret IIRC. The Shortscale one is a Saltbooster. The Univibe...

It’s a dirty little secret clone that’s been modify to allow you to toggle between plexi and jcm 800 and a boost mode switch.

It was my pandemic surprise from all of you on here, as doog and my wife were in talks to send it back to me via Dave I believe. Made me cry that did.

My old salt booster that has a low end boost or cut off switch (can’t remember which). It makes any guitar sound magically with it engaged. I usually slam another OD or amp drive with it.

And the Univibe is bloody brilliant, not an photocell vibe, but sounds brilliant. The signal droppe a little when engaged, so have been running the salt booster behind it to make up the volume drop.

I completely agree with you regarding the MBM Saltbooster. I have my MBM Saltbooster/Saltbreaker Dual Pedal on my pedalboard and the Saltbooster is always on. The Saltbooster just fattens up the tone and makes it come alive. I was going to get an MXR Micro amp but I think the Saltbooster does the job just fine.

We are recording next week so I have squeezed a bigger looper onto the board for weirdness. Really pushing the limits of what I can actually fit on this thing.

Looper is a maneco labs mini looper. Sort of a ehx 16 second delay but a less feature rich.

Been rocking this for a couple of months now and it’s about as “finished” as I’ve been

The slightly proud tuner would have me looking for a taller wah and deciding that I like being out of tune.

Ha, yeah I probably just need to flip it round, it’s the power cable that’s pushing it up a bit.

How you finding the thorpy vibe? Keep seeing that and the pedal pawn vibe getting lots of love at the moment. Does it do that trower/gilmour throb?

I think it’s great, very versatile, can do whatever vibe sound you want imo. Check out the Pedal Show from a couple of weeks back, they liked it a lot too.

Thanks Thom, I’ll check that video out. Bloody love univibes and that pedal show.

Todays rig is called “the idiot that sold his pedal power supply and can now only power one pedal at a time”

Stupidly of all the gear I had to sell to keep us afloat, I should have at least kept my trex fuel tank jr.

I do love this little MG10, clean channel can be a bit meh, but it takes pedals well and the gain channel has just the right amount of Marshall drive that I like.

Glad I managed to snag the M5 a while back for £30 as it’s all the one shot effects I like to have access to without having separate pedals for each sound. I don’t always use verb/delay but been messing around with the tape echo presets into the drive channel for some old school vibes.

Also glad I never sold my first proper guitar, she’s a keeper for life. Got it in 2008 and it’s aging better than me

That’s my son’s firefighting gear, because my tone was sooooo hot!! 😂😂

Though his favourite trick is switching my amp off and going “no! No!”
