i'm one of the lovers of the melody maker. great little simple guitars. you can just plug in and play. mine's the older model, that's more les paul junior than melody maker. i'm thikning of getting one like yours in white.

I quite like the melody maker, I'm sure if you find a good'un its a great simple guitar. Especially the 2 pickup version (which they discontinued). I would have to try it out first though, couldn't trust such a cheap Gibson, especially with the stuff I hear about the quality of their guitars being inconsistent.

L-R: '08 MIM Standard Tele, '03 MIM Tele Deluxe Reissue, '99 American Deluxe Strat
The Standard Tele has Lace Tele pickups (hot bridge), Schaller straplocks and locking tuners, and GraphTech saddles. I bought it to replace a stolen Squier Standard 20th Anniversary Tele that had a tits black sparkle finish. Sunburst is boring, but it's a classic look that I've always loved. It was either this or the Classic Player Jazzy, and I missed the old Tele. I think a black guard would look better, but I've not yet bought one.
The Tele Deluxe is stock except for 500k pots to brighten the pickups a little. I had considered replacing the pickups entirely until I tried both 1M and 500k ohm pots rather than the retarded 250k stock assholes. The 1M were too bright, and the 500k were perfect; it was as if I had removed a piece of cardboard from between the pole pieces and strings. I've not heard the original CuNtFaCe pickups, but they may as well be made of diamond for the price they fetch now. This neck is among the fattest I've ever played and I absolutely love it.
The Strat is completely stock -- Teal Green Transparent with a mint guard. It was a steal for $650 because positions 2, 3, and 4 didn't work thanks to a short in the middle pickup's wiring. I would have felt bad, but it was Guitar Center. It sits in a closet now because I've grown to hate the pickups and don't much feel like replacing them. Every so often I consider selling or trading it, but for now I've decided I'll keep it and give it to my unborn kid some day.
[I originally had this in the "pictures of your gear here" thread in the effects forum but wanted to move it to the correct spot. Sorry for the repeat of boring shit for those that have seen this already.]
