IIRC the Fender version had nutserts in the body and knurled screws holding the ashtray on?

That colour is really cool with all that chrome.

I'm surprised how nice it is for an inexpensive SX. Nick if you're talking about the chrome covers I think just screwholes and screws is the standard way to put them on?
Meant to say how cool the silverburst JM is, I thought I was looking at a black and white photo there!

No way? Maybe on some US reissue.
The old bass bridge covers had foam strips though, so they weren't just covers for looks/handrests but a mute system. They probably only started doing that on the Jazz after doing away with the individual JB mutes designed for the model, though... removing those leaves too much mess.

Interestingly that first pic with the string mutes looks almost like there's a threaded insert in the cover mounting holes. It'd be a challenge to get it in there!

Bought a nine guitar floor rack to save some space. It had fairly iffy reviews but so did every other fucking one!

It's pretty good, but it needs to be stationary, definitely no way I'd put this in the back of a car and use it for stages or whatever though it touts that as a possibility. It's fairly flimsy in the fold up and fold down area, the overall fit and quality is B+ and it was middling priced out of the stuff I could find on Amazon.

It does the job nice, you have to move it a decent amount away from the wall but it saves me tons of space over having individual stands for everything. Now just off shot I have one individual guitar stand and that is where the current guitar that I'm playing goes (and also gives me a 10th spot with which to fill with a guitar in the future :D )

These are super handy. I have a similar one that sits under my StringSwing rack. They’re OK. They are stuck together with the minimal amount of welds. They’re secure enough if you’re not moving it around.

My MVP's. Jaguar bass is really really good. Ain't an effort playing it compared to my Jazz Bass.

Well, I managed to find the original bridge pickup, pickup covers and back plate for my son's old Squier Strat today but still didn't find the two Tone knobs (tone is all in the knob  ) so I pulled off the volume knob and put some cheap effect pedal knobs on it for the gig today. I think they look kind of cool. I haven't re-fitted the original bridge pickup yet; maybe I won't.

An elegant pairing.
Where do you go on a driving holiday? Round Tassie or take the Spirit over to the mainland?

Ta! Just two hours up the coast to a seaside town called Swansea (confusingly). Weather’s a little bumpy this time of year, my partner had her book and I had the divine neck pickup of that little gem. I’ve had it about 13 years and it’ll always be number 1. Felt proper relaxed!

Nick what perversity led you to use pedal knobs? It looks insane but I’m into it.

I was digging around in the parts boxes to find the original TONE knobs (still missing) when I came across these. The volume pot moves very freely, so a thought struck me - using a smaller knob would make it harder to move accidentally. I thought it looked quite cool, a little different and customised; the black body went with the black of the guitar and the coloured stripes looked a bit quirky. Just lucky that I had 1x yellow and 2x red, good for 1x volume and 2x tone.
