New project again, found this little gem for $300 Canadian shipped. Sadly the previous owner superglued the pickguard to the body, so while I await an anodized replacement, the fragments are held together with black vinyl. I’m still looking for some better brass saddles, seems the mandolin space doesn’t have a glut of parts. It’s definitely fun having an instrument in a different tuning that can be carried around easily.

Nice Firebird! Is it a standard pickup?

Stock bonamassa, Epiphone basically rereleased them this year in 3 great colours with a MUCH higher price tag. Post covid prices are craaaaazy.

I got a question. I have a current* Firebird pickup in the bridge position of my strat. I bought the pickup a million years ago, when they probably were first introduced, and I get close to zero bass response from it - the strings from 1 to 3 overpower the 4-6 ones by being much lowder. Is it different with your guitar?

*Current being the FB pickup with two metal bars inside the bobbins and one magnet underneath instead of the classic design of two magnets inside the bobbins.

And yeah those $1.5k - 1.7k Epiphones are just something.

Can’t say I’ve seen that issue with mine.

Ok, thanks. I probably need to play with the pickup height
