Looks nice. Where did you get the pickguard? What strings did you go for? Is it still E-E?

I believe that's him, the thickest string is .95, which is the same as stock spec, but way less floppy. They are round wound, and hold the tension great.

They are starting to run crazy sales, moving all used stock from regions to one location to blow it out, it was NUTS. They were selling apogee duet 2's for $350, cheapest I could find used was $400 without warranty. A buddy of mine works there, and said they will definitely run them again because this one was such a hit. I will let you know if I hear anything coming up.

Bass, stock strings except the low e which is a labella, I will swap the rest when I go hardtail.

Typical of the new squier's, electronics are great, hardware is cheap, but that's an easy fix? Staytrem drop in sleeves also work to make the bridge not rock, which I really wanted because I am removing the trem on this.

mid 80s Gordon Smith Gypsy II , originally with Kahler trem..removed and cavity filled with block of mahogany..PRS badass style bridge, two 80s DiMarzio PUs..the cheap brass nut was replaced with a solid bone nut. Made a custom pickguard..

First time tinting and finishing a neck, some areas look like left over dorito dust, but overall I'm happy, and it was a great learning experience.

The ongoing battle, I have to rout the neck pickup more for that pickup ring, finish the nut, wire it up, ugh.

Spent some time with the router today, making a pickup designed for an archtop into a solid body makes for some fun mods.

Hoping tomorrow to start wiring, and more work on the nut.

Basic setup done, definitely need to spend some time on the tone pot, and do a proper setup, but it feels surprisingly good. No doubt I will tear it apart in the future and change things, but I am surprised how well this guitar has worked so far.
