8 tracks are a pain in the ass

For all non-guitar instruments; mandolins, synths, kazoos, and anything else musical that doesn't fit elsewhere.

8 tracks are a pain in the ass

Post by robert(original) »

so about..... 5 months ago or more i posted a thread about how tracys guitar was sounding like dick when it was recorded.
at first i thought it was a bad cable, then i thought the amp had problems.
then my attention went towards the 8-track but at that point we had stopped trying to record.
SOOOOOO....... flash forward to now, i tried to track a couple of my tunes and i found out that track 3 is fuct.
it doesn't record worth a shit and when it does it sounds like muddled asshole.
i sprayed it with some compressed air and what not but that didn't do anything for it.
does anyone have any ideas?
its a tape style tascam porta-studio mkIII.
does tascam have good customer service or will i get butt fucked like ibanez or the post office?

i know how you feel, track 4 of my 4-track has stopped working, although only after I opened it up to reconnect the tape spinner thingy. a head cleaner tape is a good idea though.

The 90's would be more likely to take up issue with you stealing all it's women, I'd think.

i like the sound of tape better than digital,
the whole compressed digital thing really irritates me, im not even sure how i get a decent sound out of my cyber twin, altho in its defense it does have tubes and a solid state circut.
so tape cleaner?
really? i'll give it a shot, i think i still have one of those things around somewhere.
