Warning team: guitars/women analogy in the area!

Just because it's not yours you shouldn't have an opinion of it? Then no-one should say anything about anyone else's guitars ever.

I know someone somewhere loves it, but I think it looks ugly. Definately wouldn't be easy to put together though, nice job to the lutiher.

Exactly. It's the internet.

Malik occasionally is prone to these bouts of nonsense.

It look like the floor of an old bowling alley, which could make for interesting fret markers.

I like the one Ultra posted (better than the others at least) is because of the red stripe along the black. Adding color is Fender's strong suit (vs. finished wood). I also like the taper of the dark wood that disappears into the neck. They could have done that more carefully. What I don't like is the big branding diamond in the center, even though it may resemble a surfboard. Or go way over the top with a more Vegas look. That's just strange. It's an abomination like my white voodoo bronco is going to be.

If they can get colors from cars, why not something else, i guess.

I agree. It's by far the worst thing about it.

Then why comment on anything?

This thread is clearly just bashing the tastes of one guy who ordered that particular guitar, it just seems excessive. Some guy clearly said "make me a guitar out of laminate flooring, but a goofy decal in the middle, take away all the features of a normal Jaguar, etc, etc", and this thread is all people saying "well the goofy decal in the middle is silly". It's a custom model, it's different from the usual threads slating production models with major flaws. Somebody asked for this exact guitar, that's what I'm trying to put across.

But yeah, I'm an idiot. :)

The disparaging comments are alright, as long as they're not from somebody who genuinely dislikes me. Go away.

Take a look at my cab project thread. People are mostly saying that they like what I did. What I did isn't a productio model, and was based on the look I wanted for it. People gave their opinions. It's the same thing here. If someone orders a marauder from teh custom shop and then gets a target burst as the finish, people are going to say "shame about the burst" because the point is still as valid as if it was a production line model.

You're right, and I have no idea what I'm on about, again. Good job this is the Internet I suppose.

The "surfer" aesthete typically has bands wearing matching Hawaiian or similar-style shirts. They also typically match the colors of their instruments (and sometimes amps).

It's just a thing that surf musicians (past and present) seem to do... Not much different than country bands wearing cowboy hats or indie/scenester kids stealing jeans from their sisters' wardrobes.

Oh, and I for one kinda like that guitar. I agree that the center Fender logo looks gaudy as hell, but I kinda dig the look he has going on. Plus, it's a Jaguar.

But of course, some people think the guitar I built is fugly, so it's all different strokes.

I 'd blame the guy on the left, master builder Dennis Galuszka who pushed the concept and made/continues to make the Fender Custom Shop Surfboard Guitars and the accompanying cases a reality, loveitorhateit. A pretentious smile might regurgitate bile. :P

But I will say nothing negative about Dick. We all love Dick.
