definitely has that old-timey surfboard vibe. but, yeah, it needs more to be a jag.

That is monstrous. But, having said that, I probably know 3-4 musicians playing in surf bands that would sell their left nut and their first ill concieved child to buy this. I guess it would work if you were in a serious surf band....It would fit the scene. Otherwise, fuck it.

If one really must...Then white/cream rockers (excuse the surfboard talk) should be standard fare. Black makes it look like a bad table top, white/cream may still be a funky looking piece but is certainly more surfy by far.
THE BIG NO-NO:
WHITE IS KIND OF RIGHT

Difficult to make such a beautiful guitar look so fucking ugly, but it's a task they've carried off with aplomb: I'd actually hide that behind the wangcaster.

It's a custom order, what's the problem? You could probably post pictures of ugly married women and make comments like "Difficult to make such a beautiful species look so fucking ugly". What does it matter, it's not your wife. I wouldn't play it, I don't think it looks particularly nice, but it's not my guitar, so who gives?
