Acoustic Jazzmaster.....

Post by Nick »

just found out these things exist. I kind of want one, since they're not made of plastic like the original stratacoustics

I'll wait to play one before passing judgement.

I love the dano convertible I got my gf. Part of me wants a nice real acoustic (breedlove, taylor, etc) while another likes fun "unique" sounding things like this. Who knows, it might actually have somewhat decent tone.

I hate the size/shape/neck of most acoustics, but maybe I'd love that. The pickup is novel.

How will I ever know. No store will ever stock it.

I played a Stratacoustic (briefly) and didn't hate it, I've played much worse... but in general, Fender seems to pay more attention to their electric guitars than acoustics...

it looks interesting, but I'd go for a good acoustic. If you are ever going to record, that fender will sound like shit for recording. It might play nice and also sound OK for live sound (like an ovation) but not the same as a real acoustic.

I also highly recommend the breedloves. I love mine.

I was looking at an AD20SM, as I can get one for stupid cheap from work. Probably cheaper than I could get one of these for oddly enough.

Also, those guitars have wood sides/back unlike the cheap ones they used to sell with the ovation backs.

i played one in the guitar store today.. i didn't plug it in, but it sounded okay acoustically. the weird shape put me off though. I didn't play it for long.

Also i played a john 5 acoustic model today, and that thing was pretty sweet actually... i'd not seen the acoustic john 5 model, then again i havn't been keeping up either...

Maybe I have an bad taste or something, but I really dont dig those fender acoustics, by the looks, I maybe just too much love the 'classical' form of guitars.. dreadnoughts.. etc..

That's kind of like my Guild Songbird. Easy to play, but sound is shit. Just a practice guitar.

Customers who shopped for the Fender JZM Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Guitar Sunburst ultimately bought:

FenderLimited Edition Monkey Business, Tiki Style Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar - $399.99
Sounds about right.
