Was it costly? Was it he who painted the headstock and put the decal? I remember the thread where you wanted to fix it yourself
Refin, new pickups wired in and headstock repair cost me £180 in total. Quick turn aswell.
Seems like a reasonable price for such a big and quality job. And Doog now has a piece of Oasis in his Mustang :D

Nice! I've surprised myself with how much I love the clashing shades of blue.
I like it because it makes the guitar look like it's suffocating
Haha, it really does, in a SNES game kind of way.

Lolz, I keep mocking it up with the gold guard, but still not convinced:

Video was with the stock neck, you can just about see the headstock and the stripey-ass fretboard:

Gold guard definitely best, and detracts from the grain mismatch.

It has the "IDGAF, I'm from the 50s/you wanna play music or just waste my time" vibe

Nick was right about yellowing the plastics to make the gold work. That's THE MOVE

I did a mockup of that on Photoshop* but it didn't work for me; it's still that grain on the body and the clashing orange-yellows that makes it a no-go for me, broze.

*Okay... GIMP.

Gimp is clearly better than Adobe Creative Retina Scan Semen Sample Shop at this point.

Finally got around to putting another VM neck pickup I sourced into the bridge position, to have more balanced and “vintagey sound; wasn’t a big fan of the overwound bridge.

Sounds great! No more massive difference in high end between the positions, just the additional lows associated with the neck position, and bringing the tone control back to 4 gets you close to the stock bridge sound.

I also sanded the logos off, looks SOOOO much better.
