They're still shorter than most modern Fenders, so if they're not short scale, then they're at least shorter scale.

Agreed. If i ever find a "early style" toronado (string through, mutant bridge big pickguard, chrome covered humbuckers sharp-ass chrome knobs), I'm fucking getting it. That was my first fender,a dn while I don't regret selling it, I sure wish I still had it.

Who has really played all of those guitars?
I'm gonna vote Cyclone, since that's the only one I've played, and I've got, but Super-Sonics are sexier.

True Story...

When I was young and dumb and looking to buy my first real nice guitar cause I only had cheap strat copies and had not experienced shortscale fenders yet, I went down to the GC and the douche bag salesman talked me into a PRS, and of course it was cool, played nice and sounded good, so since it was $2K, it must be the best guitar right? WRONG! I felt like a sucker when I left, I tried to make myself like it, but that didn't happen. SO I waited a week and took it back into the store, told the manager I wasn't happy with it and that I wanted my money back, he then called the douche bag that sold me the guitar up to the front to refund me my money and he went ape shit! He threw a fit like a three year old kid when you take their candy away and tell them they can't have it! his arms flying around and him crying about how he won't have a decent paycheck. FUCK GUITAR CENTER! I got my money back and have never looked back!

I think all the salesmen at GC Sherman Oaks and GC Hollywood are afraid of me. They almost never approach me, and when they do, I ask questions they can't answer, and almost always know more than they do. I *always* make a bee-line straight for the vintage fenders and never fuss about with the shit guitars in the store...usually, so I almost never talk to a salesman who doesn't know his stuff...(or at least *some* stuff)
