paul originally painted the body sunburst, but his gun dripped on the finish and it smeared. he started to sand it back (getting rid of most of the red) so it could be refinished, but upon seeing how it looked, i bought it from him. it is a love or hate finish, some in the "no relic" camp despise it, others love it because it looks beaten to shit.

So, just shoot amber tint on a body, start to shoot red/black on the edges, then sand the fuck out of it?

the back is ash, the top is maple, and there is black binding on the top, the neck is a 24" shortscale conversion neck, and the pickup is GFS.
it will be used for the following tuning when i get some cash for tuner set up, new nut, etc...

4th string d will be one step below the high e, the 5th string d will be the standard 4th string d, the low e will be standard and can be dropped to a d so you get 3 full octaves. essentially if you capo on the 5th it is a ukulele tuning :p
