haha, yeah there is not much talk on the recording forum. i think its cool you are recording with 4 track. you could always record with it, and dump it into a computer and edit with that. its the sound of the recording with the 4 track that is cool. not the mixing/editing part.

i miss 4 track cassette recording. i should get another one.

Yah, I did everything on a Tascam 414 in the late 90s. In a lot of ways sounds cooler than stuff I've done on Pro Tools in the past ten years. Plus knobs rule, and working with mechanical devices feels more "real" somehow.

A buddy of mine had an original Tascam 4 track from like 1979 that he wanted to unload on me a few years back. I was considering taking it, but the thing was huge (for a 4 track). I wonder if he still has it...
