Haze, which Reranch clear coat did you use on the neck, clear, tinted or both? Did you stain the neck at all? I assume you could start off with the clear and top off with tinted clear to age it slightly.

The Jazzmaster is looking nice.

Thats all ReRanch Tinted Nitro. Probably three or four thick coats, i stopped when i reached the desired amber tint.

Did you have to prep the neck with anything before you clear coated? My next "from scratch" project will be a Mustang and I was thinking of buying an Allparts Jaguar/mustang neck and finishing it myself like you did.

no prep, the allparts neck was good enough for me out of the box so i just started shooting it with clear! I also bought a jaguar neck for hotrod the same time i purchased this one and the quality was quite good, no sharp fret edges or anything, nice woodgrain on both the maple and the rosewood, I'd recommend it.

Good for graffiti too!

This is late, random and possibly ill-advised. But did you guys use some program to make those pictures of the Jaguar with different colours and shit at the beginning of thread?
If so what is it... or Are those just pictures... I ask because those were perfect yet fake looking, and those aint stock colours.

sherwood green looks wood with just about every pickguard, sticking with black for now but white, mint, tort etc all look great!

its been a freaking year since i've made ANY progress. A WHOLE YEAR PEOPLE. ordering paint from reranch, priming white then a can of sherwood green and a can of clear nitrooooooooo! I'm thinking a nice thin skin, maybe some grazing WHO KNOWS. I'm super FUCKING excited to finish this thing, I've wanted a Jazzmaster for ages now and I have basically had one sitting around for two years

Nice color choice. Finish that sucker up. I really want to build a Jazzmaster myself, but I still dream of purple sparkles and gold pickguards. :)

I hit it with a can of Sherwood Green and a light coat of nitro then a heavier coat. Didn't take pics of the process but it looks niiiiice, good color! I'll let it cure for a week or two then more sanding and polishing.
