Breaks My Heart........

Post by vic108 »

two nights ago, someone comes by with a guitar he wants me to date it for someone else that:

1) has no idea what he has
2) doesn't play
3) got from someone to cover a debt...yah, drugs kinda debt !

It's a FREAKIN SG Special - looks like a '69 to me...........very decent shape too!

and I ain't got the cash to snag it.............serial number = 534136

pots maybe from late '68? With 1 & 9/16 nut width (when did that change?)

a real shame to let this one slip thru mu hands...........where it will wind up, Lord knows.

that is the way i got it last weekend - plus the neck is off the body but strings are still attached
so, the extra ends and the coiled strings make a mess....

Tell him it's a '94 and worth about $650, and you want to buy it from him.

It's a shame to see white button 70's F tuners all messy like that. What guitar is that?

Totally with you on this - it's better to lie and cheat a guy then have another irreplaceable old guitar get ROUTED FOR HUMBUCKORZEZ!!!! by some idiot who doesn't know what he has.

Worse than that. It was some guy that could really care less about guitars.
All he wanted to do was get his money out of it for a debt.
I was thinking the SG is fragile and he'd play GUITAR HERO and snap the neck/headstock goofing around with it.

DDD: it's the Mustang I picked up last week with the strings like that.
Calm down, it's gonna be fixed up soon!
