It's more about clean headroom than volume.

Why are any of you bothering? Some guys like to have a Harley and pretend they actually ride it. Icey likes to have the hair-metal stereotype going on, and pretend he can mix it with the likes of Vai or Rhoads.

I agree. I use my valveking with a booster to punch the preamp with some power cos I can't crank it in my basement. I can get it up to 4 or 5 mind you though. But, the clean headroom is much nicer with the 100 watt then the 50 watt combos. I hate it when my clean tone isn't pristine and shimmering but thats just me.

I have the jazz/jb combo in my sg right now but I'm thinking of changing the jb out for a duncan distortion cos the jb has a total lack of bass...its all treble and mids.

If Duncan's are so horrible and DImarzio's are obviously the superior pickup, why does Larry Dimarzio and his team of lawyers feel the need to trademark the double cream configuration on their humbuckers?

Gibson made the first double cream 'buckers, but they felt no need to trademark a COLOR. Larry Dimarzio trademarked a color configuration that he didn't come up with.

Please clarify, who's the scumbag again?

And you would be 100% correct. Agreeing with me is often a good idea.
