Paints 2.0

Post by Pens »

New painting thread. Old was was so busted from dead links that nothing made sense anymore.

I've been learning to do digital work, my daughter is quite talented and I bought a Wacom tablet for her, but she preferred her cheaper Huion tablet instead because it's bigger. So I kept the Wacom, and asked her to show me how to set it up for painting. It's quite the learning curve, coming from oil paints.

Anyway, I managed to do some things. Attaching low-res versions, the "real" ones are fucking huge files and this board doesn't need them.

This one I started last night, and I didn't like it. Felt too smooth and digital, so after talking to my daughter I managed to "chunk it up". This one turned out better than my previous attempts at pure-digital painting.

This one is a mixed media thing. Started out as photo paper that I painted developer on. I scanned that, upped the contrast and sharpness to pull out the lines, then went to work drawing on top of it. I think it turned out okay.
