Bullet Mustang to Sonic Reducer conversion.

Post by cooter »

I bought one of the bullet mustangs awhile back with a few mods in mind.
The neck had some nice flame so I stripped it down, tinted and tru oiled it. I posted a couple pics before but I never followed up with the finished product.
I also added some vintage style tuners and a custom Squier decal.
Drilled the body for a string through bridge I had in the parts box and switched the neck pickup to a vintage wound single coil.
Made a new aged pearloid pickguard and called it done.

Love it with that bridge! Gets it a little closer to the 'real thing', and that's always been the main aesthetic issue had with the Bullets. That, plus the string-thru, frickin great work, man.

Thanks. I guess throwing $100 at a $150 guitar might not make sense to some but I think it was well worth it. I love this thing.
It sounds great, looks great and plays great. Plus it's super light and I don't have to worry if it gets tossed around.

Very nice mods, I used the same (but modded) bridge on my build...

Absolutely cool looking guitar. I like both Alstang and this, though I like your pickups combination better right now

Wow, is the flame on the majority of these necks? What tint did you use?

Also, the bridge... was it much to reposition it?
