I haven't seen a snail in the wild around my home in so many years! I am envious.

Same hedgehog as in the pub thread, digital camera instead of phone, no processing.

V. Nice. I wish I could see a hedgehog in real life... the best I get are bees and ladybirds:

Wow, beautiful! The colour and texture in the shell is so pretty.

here's a rabbit from my dad's back yard in suburban maryland. these pictures are actually from years ago, but these rabbits are still there all the time. there was actually a rabbit hole with baby rabbits last summer. these are eastern cottontail not european rabbits, so they don't burrow like crazy they only dig a shallow depression for their babies.
you can barely see it but there is actually a hole in the fence right in front of him. that's his little escape tactic.

The Fibonacci sequence found in nature is stunning. Most obvious, the beauty of a snails shell. My friend found a fossilized snail shell the other day while we hiked around the local lake. Stunning.
If you haven't, check out the 1996 French film "Microcosmos".
Someone used the footage of that film as a backing for this Radiohead song.
