That's what I keep reading.

It'll probably transpire some years down the line that Fender had a load of parts again that they didn't know what to do with so made a run of shite to get rid of them.

It also reminds me of when you're a kid and you draw something that you're really proud of, and you keep adding bits to it and you ruin it. However, instead of Fender getting angry with themselves for bollocksing up some great work, because they're making money (I assume some people will buy these) they're going through the back catalogue and fucking up everything they ever did that was good.

Because G&L hired up all the French.

But really they should just hire up G&L because Fender is just making a bad copy of G&L's good copy.

I think he likes this: http://www.fetishguitars.com/

But maybe Italians today would not design the same types of guitars.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I dig it for what it is. A hard-tailed, P90ed, shortscale guitar with an interesting laminated, real-wood feature that looks like racing stripes. If they would have stained it with a transparent surf-green, and if it was $499, I might. Blue stain, even. But they were going for a surf board reference, so that's fine.
It could be much worse - they could have made it a 25.5" scale...
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

Is it me or are there a lot of humbuckered Fenders ? :?

There's some crap this year but it isn't all too bad .. The Roadword Jazzmasters and Jaguars are cool. The Laquer ones also . The Sandblasted Ash teles look bitchin... The Sergio Vallin Offset Strat thing looks pretty cool. I'm mixed on the Longboard Strat and Shortboard Mustang.. The David Lozeau strats seem too " Affliction " but the price is not too bad . There's some shit but they're not all duds ..

I'm not proud of my country, especially if we talk about guitars&co. , but vintage Eko, Meazzi and other old italian guitars sound pretty well and also at a good price: you can easily get an old Eko for less than 400€. Besides, I think that vintage italian guitars are as cool shit as Eastwood guitars, and Eastwood makes really good instruments IMHO.

No thanks Fender!!!!

Why finally put stripes all around on this ugly model?

Put out the original comp colors with the original mustang feauters and do the stripe all around.
Comp orange, dark placid blue, candy apple red.
And make them with matching headstocks as well. 7.25 radius.

This is almost as ugly as the mexican ones made with p-90s.

P-90s maybe sound good but i hate the look of it.

Mustangs are great guitars why ruin them?

Such a shame. They did all the hard work. Strat hardtail. Brilliant switch placement. Non-slotted tuners (taking a bit of a guess there). Wrong anniversary 50th anniversary year. It's only a strat jack away from being the slice of perfection it should have been.

They're trying to copy the look of the vintage Aria Pro TS series:

Yeah, first thing I thought of when I saw that Strat was the Aria bass John Taylor used to have in the early 80s. Like this:
