the entire body and neck, fingerboard and all, is covered with this chameleon paint stuff that changes colour depending on the viewing angle.
while i'm not entirely set on the chameleon aspect, or initial colour choices (and i don't care what anyone says, HSS looks ugly bugly), a fully blacked/coloured out strat or other fender is a cool idea.

£911 is a pisstake though, but these are the sorts of models that will be down to about £500 in 2 months (in america at least)

I like em, which I find funny considering how the new gawdy Gibsons repulse me. It has to be Fender designs, they could paint a Stratocaster Dogshit Brown and it would still look cool.
No problems with HSS either, its certainly a more useful configuration and suits the Strat better than stuff like the Mustang, Telecaster... in my opinion.

this. not into hss strats. would look awesome sss though. aside from tele deluxes/starcasters and maybe jazzblasters i dont really like humbuckers on fenders.George wrote:they just look shit
plus i don't like humbuckers so while there is a case for "functionality", it ain't my jam enough to listen to that argument
ITT: in the UK pints are larger, and frequently enjoyed much earlier in the day

Will be proper neato to see up close.
My brain was rearranging the acronyms on its own to fit what the classic Fender finish I saw, the first two most definitely being Sice Tlue Betallic and Bake Tacid Plue.

It's not terribly innovative as a design, but I like the paint. I wonder how the painted frets feel. What if Fender got really crazy and swapped the necks? Ooh, wacky. I almost painted an entire guitar white like a ghost but chickened out. Well—it was a vintage XII.
The pointy rectangle pickup hole doesn't blend. There must be a way to make an homburger work, but that isn't it.

No problems with HSS, personally. But HSS always looks so much better with robroe type pickup covers...fills that pointy square hole...had a Strat with an EMG HSS setup and loved the look of it, but EMGs aren't my thing.
Dislike the MIM-Standard-ish arm contour on the bodies, but that's about it. Why isn't Fender US doing this kind of thing? Far more interesting than most of what Custom Shop is putting out.
