Well...in some sort of maverick mavouvre, I slapped a pre-order and deposit down on my Coronado today (black cherry burst since you ask dear reader). Psyched!

The classic Toronados were MIM and I imagine they would be again? Is there more info on this or something?
They did make a US 'special' Toronado, but yeah, most of the models were MIM.

Saw a fiesta red Coronado today. Looked brilliant but there was an awful fat guy noodling awfully for twenty minutes or so right in front of it which sort of drove me out of the shop.

Shall go back.

Okay the one in black looks pretty good in the GAK video. Nice you learn they pronounce it G-A-K, rather than like gak the drug.

The bottom line is that none of us have Starcasters. A reissue makes it feasible. It also means that sooner or later there will be parts around. If they fly, there will be third party parts and mods. Rather than a rare unknown, they will become popular like they always should have been.

It's like bringing back Captain Kirk and Spock. That show lasted three seasons and was cancelled because of low ratings, but became a cult hit.

I wouldn't expect to see any Wildwoods, but that would be interesting. Or an Antigua!

Walked past Forsythe's in Manchester yesterday who had a Coronado and two Starcasters, they're bloody lovely.

Still, stick a flashy bridge in there and the point is lost.

I think that's just CAR in a bad photo. I've never seen a BMM Coronado though I wouldn't be at all surprised if some were made.

There was a similar debate on a les paul forum regarding this one

That one is definitely just a faded CAR. With an auto-white balance it's less ambiguous.

I think the new ones looks and seems to sound cool as class as a mo fo.... looking froward to some o you guys that have ordered these beasts reviewing them. I think the Coronado's seem to be the best bet?

Starcaster arrived at the shop today... much nicer than I had thought in fact. The demo's online so far have been pretty uninspiring.

Sounds really nice !! and feels ace... Anyone used to Jag proportions will like it I'm sure, even with the longer scale length. Think having the neck pushed in somewhat does this, but feels surprisingly comfortable overall. I really can't fault the guitar apart from it looking like the slightly uglier, chubbier younger brother of the original.

Here's a photo I took earlier for our facebook:
