Fender American Vintage Series

Post by jcyphe »

Fender re-designed the AVRI line with some new specs, new model years, and some discontinued ones.

That Aztec Gold Jazzmaster is Hot!

I like the Jaguar, but I can't see spending all that money to simply get a bound neck. Still it's cool to see Fender Changing it up a bit.

I haven't got time to check through these right now, any interesting colours? Is it all vanilla except for the Aztec Gold?

The blue Tele is alright. I do like the Aztec gold JM, but would have prefered shoreline gold or even Inca silver. No surprises in this little lot anyway.

I'll say this here again:

Fender are now selling reissue Jaguars for more than Vintage ones go for.

They're asking for £1,900 odd (or more) for the '65 RI Jaguar.

I got my all original 1966 Jaguar for £1,600, guess which one will have better resale?

The old one!

What did I win?

The Jags are nice though. Must get another at some point.

I've said plenty in the other thread, but in summary:

1. They look like very nice guitars.
2. They're overpriced.
3. There aren't enough colour options.

I'd rather hand over my guitars to paulk1 to mod than buy one of these.

Be careful about talking about that...I've been told that he appears if you say his name three times...

I really dislike the decal placement on the 65 Jazzmaster, I don't care if it's aiming for historic accuracy, it looks dumb.

"Hey! I got an idea guys! How about instead of making a new design and start looking towards the future.. Let's just make something from the 60's again! Then.. Then we can just keep making more teles and strats and call them new models! :O" -Fender
