Re: New squier bullet duo sonic sneak peaaak

that red mustang looks exactly like my old modded squier duo sonic after i changed out the pickup covers apart from the bridge. And control plate. I'm hoping the blue/black HH Mustang looks good in person.....if it could be made into a convincing Daphne Blue 65-alike with an aged-pearl pickguard an...

It is, Hagstrom I bass, I just realized I made a general bass discussion thread instead of a NGD post for it at the time but it’s shown better in the first post of this thread:

Re: pictures of your guitars here

Don't sell Tornado 100% I already edited my post before noticing yours, I had just gone downstairs to play it on my lunch break through the pro reverb and was wondering wtf I was thinking. I haven't had it properly set up since the refret, the frets are still normal/vintage style but it was practic...

Re: pictures of your guitars here

After a pandemic long period of complete GAS decadence, I’m trying to get back to a healthy amount of guitars and pay myself back for my home studio upgrades. Still trying to sell off the excess but only keepers shown here (not including acoustics, excluding the Ovation Tornado which I don't think I...

Oh good lord that's so hot. Perfect. Ha but why the Jag bridge?! ...and what happened to rod? Just gone? He had a killer collection IMO all the mods to this guitar are very pretty questionable and were done at a time when competition Mustangs weren’t quite as valuable as they are now. At least it w...

Re: pictures of your shortscales

God, the Prisonstang - my white whale. Didn't it originally belong to Rodvonbon (or how was that?)? Rodvonbon had it circa 2008, then Mezzio, then Shad. Been waiting until I get it fully sorted before making its own thread for it, but this is how it looks now - hopefully I haven't ruined the mojo :...

Re: Fender Goldfoils WHAT WHAT WHAAAAAAT

Getting more silvertone/harmony vibe from the JM. At this point I would rather buy a Harmony Silhouette. More interesting, probably lighter. At this point JMs May as we’ll be strats to me.

The Sunburst Jazz bass and Redburst Tele wear it best IMO.

Re: New guitar project

Do you know the weight?

Honestly for what it is, I like it how it is, I think the pearl is a nice compliment to the gold. Anodized might be too much of a good thing. But looks cool either way, definitely a conversation piece at the very least

If both knobs on 10 does the toggle change the sound at all? I’d guess a bad switch, common failure point.

Re: pictures of your shortscales

Beautiful Mustangs. Is the worn one matching headstock gold or what? Really cool. Thanks- it’s a heavily worn in competition orange that supposedly spent the first 40 years of its life in the good behavior room of a prison. There’s still remnants of the red comp stripe on the side by the strap butt...

Re: pictures of your shortscales

That makes sense, the 1965 I played at Parkway Music that made me buy the 1966 was A-width. Same spec as mine but with the smaller headstock, oval buttons, plain neckplate etc. I went back to put it on hold and someone else had already done it an hour earlier. Now it's hard for me to imagine an even...

Are all the 70s Mustang necks B width?
Not sure but both my 1966 and 1969 are B width.

I think the only thing I dislike is how cut and paste the pickguard is between all models in the line. And it isn’t a very interesting or aesthetically pleasing shape to begin with.

great post! bummer about the crack in the finish, but other than that, it sounds like you managed to get all of the needs addressed without getting ripped off by the shop. nice work! when i brought my toronado to the local repair guy a couple years ago to get rid of a horrible grounding buzz, all h...
