I know Gabriel uses a modulation/verb Nux pedal and plays a LOT (being in a jazz conservatory), I'm sure he could advise. I've got a Modcore. It's a great pedal for what it does. The build quality is also pretty impressive considering the price point. I've been using the pedal for the past couple o...

If you're just playing at home and not worrying about going out for gigs I'd pick up an old Ampeg secondhand. I use a 65 Ampeg Jet to practice at home and it's awesome. It's also totally capable of playing loud gigs, but I've got a 76 Vibrolux for that. Vintage amps are built a lot sturdier than mod...

Incoming: Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master

As musician that can't drive and a relatively busy schedule, carrying around even a moderately populated pedalboard has been proving to be a total pain in the backside. In addition to this I have a bunch of travelling on the horizon and the idea of transporting my current pedal setup on internationa...

I really like the look of this. 45 watt class D guitar amp in a single pedal enclosure.

The seymour duncan powerstage amps also look really cool, but are much more expensive.

The pitch shifting on the Zoom units is awful, super glitchy and really out of tune. A morpheus drop tune or a Digitech drop are the best options for what you want.

I like my octave pedal after my overdrives but before modulation. I think it gets too muddy before overdrive.

My strat is a G&L Custom Shop S500 from the 90s. It's amazing. The best part about G&Ls is their secondhand value is much lower than an equivalent model by Fender, I picked up my guitar for around £750. They feel a lot more modern than Fenders, I think that partly down the neck style and fl...

"ooh, just get the cheap AC4 one, or just leave it; my amp sim sounds plenty good" Don't even consider this, the AC4 is one of of the worst sounding amplifiers I've ever played through. My friend used to have one that I'd use for rehearsing, it was terrible. It sounds like you want the AC...

I love strymon pedals, I recently changed over for a TC Electronic Trinity T2 to a Strymon Flint and am very very happy with the switch. The Flint sounds very organic and seems to add something to the guitar tone which was missing from the TC. I also think the TC has somewhat of an artificial qualit...

It could just be a case of dodgy solder joints on the jacks. Happened to a Zoom multi-fx pedal I used to use years ago

I spent a bunch of time on youtube listening to demos. The Archer is the one that sounded best to my ears. But there are plenty of options, so just try and find one you like the sound of best. The JHS modded Soul Food sounds amazing too, even the stock Soul Food sounds good.

I'm really happy with this setup. I also love how the little £20 Nux is nestled up to a couple of Strymon pedals and build quality aside is totally holding it's own! The archtop sounds amazing through this rig, the klon is really great for sitting on the edge of breakup, so I can still retain enoug...

New pedalboard Setup (New pedals)

http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/426/P1010612.JPG Recently I've been overhauling my rig a lot. I decided I wanted to move from the Pedaltrain mini to a Jr. I was also unhappy with the low gain sounds my rig was producing, so after a lot of searching around I decided upon a JRAD Archer Klon clo...

Thomas wrote:Lovely purchase. Did you get it for a good price? I have no clue how much these things are worth.
I didn't lose any money as I bought it for the price I sold my Rivera. So in that regard yes. But I bought it for £750 which is near the bottom end of the average value according to reverb.com

Cheers guys, this thing sounds great. It's got a couple of little issues that are to be expected of a vintage amp, so I'll take it in to my amp tech at some point this summer to get it serviced. I'm really happy with this amp though!

New Amp: Vintage Fender Content

Over the past week I've been doing a lot of buying and selling. Basically I felt like there a few things I wanted to overhaul in my rig. Luckily after selling off a bunch of things and some clever buying it looks like I'll have a whole new pedal setup (thread to follow) and this new amplifier. So ba...

I really like my Peavey Envoy 110. I've had a lot of small solid state amps, and this one sounds the best by miles. The EQ on it is a little strange, but once you understand how it works, it sounds great. I've actually ended up using this little amp on a few recording sessions. http://soundcloud.com...
