Ooof sorry to hear that. Is it possible to cure that sort of thing just by raising the action?

Red wine. I used to have a Musicmaster bass in the same color. Only in production at the tail end of the 70s.

Yes, I love these amps too. But Seventeen Seconds is probably my all-time favorite album, so it's to be expected.

IMO solid state is severely underrated. I got rid of two Fender tube amps this year. Quite satisfied with my Orange Crush.

you can still apply similar limitations to yourself within a DAW to make sure you're not spending most of your time stuck in the Choice Paralysis Matrix Solid logic. I feel I was the most creative and most productive using the Apogee Jam with an iPad. I think Garageband is great because of the inhe...

OK, I'm convinced. Interface it is. I wonder if I could find a good interface with faders a la the Digi 002?

I was looking pretty hard at the Zoom R16 for a moment, but the instruction manual has 100 pages!

Yes, the Apogee Jam + Garageband has proven to be a really inspiring combination for me as well. No fuss, just get things done quickly. However, I'm now wanting to record multiple tracks at once. I'm still using the Submarine Pickup to get bass tones while playing guitar, and I've added a nifty hard...

TC does have some good prices. Are Dunlop Fuzz Faces really that much more expensive in the UK?

Should I buy a new interface, a 4 track, or both?

I'm thinking to start recording again and not quite sure how I want to go about it... I was listening to some demos I did about 20 years ago on a Tascam 414. They sound pretty good overall, and I remember having a lot of fun using the 4 track. I find that limitations actually help me during the reco...

I wonder if there will be a hardtail Tribute version. I would be super into that. No info on their website yet (unless I'm missing it somehow).

Bottom line for me is this: I want a hardtail Jazzmaster with no Strat jack. I'm loving my Telemaster currently.

^I would definitely be interested in a high quality HM-2 clone if you build them for the masses. Just got one and it sounds fantastic through weird reverb effects. Enjoyed the podcast (well, the parts with Mike anyway). And I learned something new... didn't know it's pronounced "Livesley" ...

I just found an old demo featuring the DS-1 at 1:40. I ran it through a Blues Deluxe Reissue with a Small Stone phaser. Sounds good to my ears. I've been thinking about tracking down another DS-1...

Had no idea the DRRI was so expensive across the pond! Less than half that price here in the States.

My former bandmate has a Blues Deville and I used to have a Blues Deluxe. Those are both nice amps to check out as well (if they are available in your area).

Love the Mustang trem on that Jagmaster. I sold my Vista Jagmaster to HNB mainly because I don't like the Strat bridge/trem. Really excellent guitar tho.

Kevin Shields used one of these on Loveless because he wanted to record bass without compression. The signal stays relatively level when moving up and down the fretboard. Quite different from your typical P-Bass. I just reread this article about Alan Moulder's take on the recording of Loveless. He ...

Because of the thread title, surely?
