I used the Bronco at rehearsal last Thursday and it was awesome. Doesn't have the same low end thump that I'm used to, so I started playing some parts an octave up a la Peter Hook. Works really well. Played out on Saturday night using the Bronco exclusively. Absolutely cut through the mix and "...

Can confirm the Sonex sucks. Tried one at Real Guitars in San Francisco. Heavy af, pieced together from some weird material, didn't care for the sound. Would recommend avoiding at all costs.

LOL I bit the bullet on the Torino Red Bronco Bass instead. Should be here Monday. Have gigs the following Saturday and Wednesday. Dare I play out with the stock pup or stick with my McCartney thing? The stock pickup isn't terrible, but with just one strat sized pickup it's easy enough to just drop...

I want the blue Jazzmaster but with the blocks and binding.
I know a guy, oh, never mind.
Forget your guy. I can totally mod that for you.

Also, I want one blue and one pink. Don't care if they're Jags or JMs.

The green ones are in stock now at Sweetwater and Guitar Center. There's one available on Reverb for $349 brand new.

I need a new bass and might just go for it... stay tuned!

That looks awesome. I definitely prefer the red to the black. The reason I was thinking cool rail or similar is that my Beatle bass has a pair of mini hums. I'm playing in a loud and aggressive 3 piece, so that thick humbucker sound really drives the whole band. If I were doing something more chill ...

Fuck yes. I am looking for something with a proper trem. Could be a Mustang, Jag, or JM. Deal scouring begins now!

I am playing bass in a band now and have just been using my friend's Beatle bass copy. I have been eying that Squier Mustang bass in surf green. However, to Nick's point, I could probably get by with a Bronco bass. I'd definitely drop a cool rail in tho.

I want to trade my Twin Reverb Reissue for a Deluxe or an AC15 (or both!) go for the deluxe. Traded my 1970 twin for a 68 DRRI years ago and never looked back. AC15's are nice, but not as much headroom as the Deluxe, the size and weight are also not that much better than the twin. Another vote for ...

Mickie, a few more questions if you have time... 1) Where do you buy your speakers on sale? I got my Alto TS310 on Amazon for $199. It just arrived and I haven't tried it yet, but assuming it's as good as all the reviews say, I'd like to buy a few more. 2) This is probably a stupid question: having ...

Thanks Mickie... awesome response and very helpful! Yes, my research has also pushed me toward Alto and QSC powered speakers. I like the idea of powered stuff so that I have the option to run my monitors separate from the main PA at a gig. I figure Altos will work fine as monitors for the time being...

Building a PA

Any tips? I'm just starting to learn about this stuff. Right now my band is using a generic PA supplied by the manager of our shared rehearsal space. It includes a Behringer 2000w powered mixer and two passive 15" mains. I just bought a 10" active speaker made by Alto Professional to use a...

That MD200 looks awesome. But what about a hi-band flange option? I have recently been missing my Boss RV-6. I now have a Neunaber Wet and a Blue Sky (yes, I spoil myself, I'm worth it, etc). But there was just something about the RV-6. Magic tones when combined with certain cheapies like the Digive...

I am part of the 7.25" with vintage frets crowd. I'm just moving chords around and strumming real fast, so the old-school set up works best for me. Unfortunately I prefer the tune-o-matic style bridge for the JM or Jag. A vintage Tele or Mustang sounds very nice though.

You don't need anything other than Squiers to sound awesome. Save your money for a sick amp and crazy pedals.

We don't have a comedy tax in the US. Gabe could have bought a Tele from Andertons and had it shipped to his new Stateside abode without the American government collecting a penny.

Lovely guitar regardless :D
