Re: Always on pedals, a popular option?

Last week, the day after practice and inspired by your setup Rob, I couldn't be bothered unpacking my board and just plugged in my Fuzzface...there's something special about the Strat-Fuzzface-Marshall combination :D It’s quite liberating, all those tones I hear in my head and on some of my favouri...

Re: Always on pedals, a popular option?

Anything counts nickD, just very interested in what people’s base tone consists of. Today I’ve been running the fuzz face into the clean channel of my MG10. It tames some of the strats natural brightness and gives it so many sweet spots for gain depending on pickup selection and volume position. I’v...

Always on pedals, a popular option?

Sounds like a proper klon-gearpage-boutique title, but genuinely curious if anyone has a go to combo or setup with an always on pedal for your base tone. Since getting the fuzz face, I really find I prefer leaving it on all the time and using the old school guitar volume trick to vary the gain/amoun...

Re: Boss OS-2, anyone tried one?

Well, what an anti climax. Agreed to meet the seller as it was on Facebook market place. Went round to their house and it was a teenager about 16-17 selling it. Asked to try it to make sure it works and he suddenly gets very hesitant to let me try it out, kept repeating it works fine. Eventually let...

Re: pictures of your gear here

Found a nice odd shelf in the ikea bargain corner for £1 and thought it’d make a nice pedalboard. Still loving the fuzz face, it really sings when it’s fed into a driven amp or plexi style dirt pedal. Octavio is sounding pretty nasty, which is what I wanted it to be. Gets into ring mod territory whe...

Re: Boss OS-2, anyone tried one?

Thanks for the input good peoples. Seems to get some conflicting reviews, some love it some hate it. Seems people are hoping it’s the best of both a ds-1 and an sd-1 and then not living up to either of those pedals. The demos mostly sound pretty good on the most part, just that it’s nothing groundbr...

Re: Boss OS-2, anyone tried one?

I’ve not actually come across that channel, doog. It’s pretty good. Not a bad sounding pedal, in his hands.

Might be worth a punt

Re: Pedalboard modellers: Whats your pick?

All the line 6 love reminds me of the first ever guitar magazine I bought when I was 14. Had a demo disc for the then new MM4 modulation modeller. Still lust after that one, even though all the models are in the M5.

Boss OS-2, anyone tried one?

Anyone got any experience with the OS-2?

Online it says they can be bright or tricky to dial in.

I was about to grab an sd-1 again after thom’s recommendation but this OS-2 is local for £30 and didn’t know if it’s a worth a punt.

Re: Pedalboard modellers: Whats your pick?

I’m still in the M series era with my M5. I’d love to try an HX stomp or effect but can’t justify the cost when I have the M5 for my once in a while effects. My latest revelation is that I can sync a midi foot-switch with my M5 to stomp between 4/5 presets without having to scroll through on the M5.

Re: pictures of your gear here

It will still be loud even with an attenuator, but my 18 watt is at least usable at home with it. Have you still got your old attenuator? You could get it fixed. It's worth getting one with treble boost on it, they suck a fair amount of treble out of the sound otherwise. It just one switch I need t...

Re: pictures of your gear here

Well, that was an eventful morning. Plugged my Marshall in, go to power it on and off goes the power to all the sockets in the house. Unplug everything reset the RCD, plug just the extension lead in on it’s own, trips again. Try another extension lead with nothing else connected, trips again. Must b...

Re: pictures of your gear here

That’s the vibe I’m after, I miss my JTM45 dearly and this was the closest compromise at the time. I’ll give those settings a spin. I used to have an SD-1 years ago, think fran had it for while at some point. They appear locally quite cheap, so I’ll try and snag one at some point. Does it stack nice...

Re: pictures of your gear here

Yes! How did you like the Octavio? It’s fucking nuts, in a good way. I had the original cheese wedge one a while back and very reluctantly sold it. I knew as soon as I sold it that the prices would go crazy and be unobtainable. Same with the Hendrix fuzz face. I got the screamadelica one because it...

Re: pictures of your gear here

Got one of the newer Octavio pedal on a cheeky loan from a friend. Wish it was the wedge style one as that was fucking savage when engaged. I missed this and the fuzz face after the gear purge and wanted those sounds again. Although I miss being in a band and jamming with others, I’m glad I can use ...

Re: pictures of your gear here

What's the bypass like on that drill set there? That’s my son’s firefighting gear, because my tone was sooooo hot!! 😂😂 Though his favourite trick is switching my amp off and going “no! No!” Classic firefighter banter The second truck on scene at an incident where we need fire support is their crew ...
