Oh dude, forget about it. Since their "format change" they've been hopeless... They were a real music shop back then. Really? You mean being bought out by Toys R Us changed them in some way?!? Be thankful they weren't bought by Victorias Secret. I give my business to the local shops whene...

Neck finish options...

...unless someone has an extra '69 RI neck on ebay... I hear you, man. I've been looking for and bidding on japanese RI necks for awhile, but I set my bids to max at $200. I guess both the 69RI and 65RI necks have a pretty good reputations, so I've kept my eyes open for either for awhile. I just re...

The bridge you had in there to begin with is great, US spec with full sized steel block. Deluxe Players aren't sustain machines in my experience either... +1 I cut and sanded down two small blocks of ash ~5-7 mm thick, wedged them in tight on either side of the block (fore and aft), and loaded all ...

Re: Fender Mustang Warmoth Neck

I want to order a Mustang neck for my '78 Musicmaster from Warmoth ... I was going to warn you that Warmoth necks only come in 10-16" compound radii and the Gotoh side adjusting double truss. Luckily, I decided to double-check the Warmoth site before hitting submit. I see that they now offer a...

65 Mustang - True Closet Classic?

I've been pretty busy traveling for the past several months, but always try to read the forum once a week or so. When I travel, I always stop into small town pawn shops and music stores and snoop around. Yesterday was an interesting day, I came across 2 Crate Power Blocks, a flawless turquoise Epi W...

baja wiring

Ok did a little checking on the bajas. So you've got a S-1 pot, did you verify that its wired correctly? Did it do anything in your test?

Phil O'Keefe had some pretty good points too. Does it sound the same before you install the control plate?

Been there...

I figured out the metal edge of the 4 way switch was touching the body. I sanded down the cavity with my dremel and my grounding out problems appear to be gone. Unfortunately, the output of the guitar is still too low. I set my Bugera V5 at a gain of 2 and volume of 7 and it sounded nice and full o...

How are the necks on these. There is always a bunch of talk when they come out with something new, but I have never heard how the necks on these are? I am thining of buying on of the jagmaster style and possibly picking up a tele that is on clearance. I can get them both for under 300 so it seems l...

I like how the one video is pretty much just Marty Friedman awkwardly masturbating in front of a camera for several minutes. http://www.nndb.com/people/623/000043494/martyfeldman-sm.jpg LOL, I about shat myself, Nick!!! Epi LP Jr 57 RI

I ended up getting an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. '57 Reissue for $200 shipped off ebay, it has the set neck and all and with a pickup and electronics upgrade its really a fantastic guitar. He's right. They're damn awesome, but the cheap sunbursts are just glorified Epi LP Special IIs IMO. Actually, in a...

Problem unique to Guitar Fetish strings...

I ordered and tried a pack of GuitarFetish branded Hybrid lights I agree with Paul but I've heard similar issues with these strings over at the tele forum. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if you changed the strings and it fixed the problem. REALLY Weird - just confirmed by another source, it's unique to...

Um, is your tuner broke? It's the only thing I can think of. No. Checked all strings with 3 different tuners, it's the same. Freaky, eh? The only variable I can account for "really changing" is brand, and size, of strings (I ordered and tried a pack of GuitarFetish branded Hybrid lights)....

Re: Strange Tele Intonation Problem

Spent the weekend rewiring my Iceman as a Jimmy Page Les Paul I think I found your problem right there. Hahaha! Sorry man - always wanted to try splitting coils and messing with phase on a HH guitar. I freaking HATE everything about this guitar - mahoghany weight, phallic shape, neck-heavy balance....

Intonation...

Most odd. I'd try lowering the pickups (the magnets can sometimes interfere with the strings) and putting a new/old/different string on there to see if you get any change. Does the intonation go sharp like it should when you move the saddle towards the neck? Pickups were my first gut feeling as I w...

Strange Tele Intonation Problem

Spent the weekend rewiring my Iceman as a Jimmy Page Les Paul and tinkering a bit with a Peavey Reactor Tele. On the tele, I installed a set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials, flipped the control plate, tweaked the tele's truss rod a 1/8 turn, adjusted the action a tad bit lower, and restrung it ...

Very NIce

It looks lovely. Those mini Strat necks are the same as the 22.5" Duo necks? Mini strat necks are 22.75" scale. I moved the bridge back a little to compensate and made a pickguard to fit. That's well done. I guess I always assumed the Mini's scale was shorter than my MIM Duo's 22.75"...
