You could also get some Zoom unit with a bunch of effects and looper and drum rhythms.
Although I'm guessing the ones Doog is suggesting are cheaper, maybe not by a lot.

I'm not crazy about the stang tailpiece. It goes out of tune with serious reverb handling, and I spent lots of time trying to set it up and trying everything. Which isn't the case with a Bigsby without a tension bar. O.k., that does take time finding a bridge which will work well and we're talking ...

The price of that ebay guitar is more than a painted Warmoth body made out of better wood. I'm not crazy about the stang tailpiece. Yesterday I did some surgery and moved the Boost channel volume control to be in front of the last preamp ECC83 V103 as per the final JTM60 schematic, swapped the input jacks for Neutriks and put it back together. 160V on the treble pot tells me that I have a leaky tone/DC blocking cap which explai...

Check the resistors in the power circuit. Do you mean PSU or output stage? PSU. I've had them go bad. Check them all up to the plates. The ones I've had trouble with are the voltage dropping ones between the electrolytic caps, but it probably wouldn't hurt to check the plate resistors as well. Remo...

How about an Adam Black Libra? They are the cheapest relatively recent UK guitars. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v118/turquoisemoleeater/guitars/adamblacklibrauk.jpg They remind me of the original Shergold Masquerader, but the reissues of that are not made in the UK and have details that make th...

I have experimented quite a bit with different tone caps, although without a pot. 100 nF will give a very dark tone like a bass guitar, only useful if you want to use some very heavy fuzz or distortion. 47 nF is more common for guitars on the dark side. 22 nF is the most common for tone pots, althou...
