It is only five watt. Not enough for even a small gig. When it comes to sound I like the Orange crush pro sixty combo. But it ain't that small and pretty heavy.

I have read a review on this in a magazine and it was very positive. I am wondering how loud this amp is. I am also wondering about the Taurus amps how loud they are. By the way this thing is extremely lightweight and fits in a gigbag. There is also the nanocab with a 12'' speaker. Also pretty light...

I think a Boss DS-1 will do fine to get this type of sound. This sound is clearly a distortion sound but it is pretty close to an overdrive. I think extreme distortions are too heavy and snarling to get this sound.

I guess you might need to change the spring at very least to suit the hilarious small amount of tension 8s give. Also Nick... 7s?! No one seems to get it but my eyeroll was at the idea of a bigsby on a jagstang....just how and why? I imagine 8s on a 24" feel no more silly than the 9's those 22...

You are absolutely right. Just like the Frankenstein monster it isn't one hundred procent perfect, but that's exactly the charm of it. :D No serious it is indeed much more perfect than the monster.

I have heard a Arion SRV-1 analog vintage reverb pedal. And it sounds really warm and natural and gives your guitar sound a lot of ambience. It doesn't sound as tidy as a digital reverb but the natural character of the sound makes you forget that. I also like it better than a spring reverb.

Choosing between lightweight gear or perfect sound?

Hi guys, Would you settle for a slightly lesser sound in favour of the comfort, small and lightweight gear offers you? I am a real nitpicker when it comes to sound but my motto is, what joy will you get out of a perfect sound if you got a hernia as well? So I would always choose for a small combo li...

Guys let me tell you a story. I know a guy who was a professional guitar builder. He had to quit guitar playing because he developed severe injury in his left hand. And he was a firm strong guy with big strong hands. He warned me to play within my personal limts. He gave me an example in Jeff Beck. ...

Well I was planning not only to replace the trem but also the bridge. I have heard that there is a replacement bridge for the Jaguar and Jazzmaster that can also be used for the Jag Stang. But perhaps I should go back to 009. With 009 I never had severe tuning problems as long as I used the tremolo ...

It ain't that floppy to my taste. It makes extreme bends very easy. By the way Brian May's Red special got a 24 inch scale and he usen 008 gauge strings. I don't know if it is true but I heard that he used even 007 Picato strings for a while.

Can you use 008 gauge with a Bigsby tremolo?

Hi people, I am thinking of letting a guitar builder put a Bigsby tremolo on my Jag stang. But I prefer 008 gauge strings. Does working with a Bigsby require 010 gauge strings or higher like they say about a Mustang style bridge? By the way I am wondering if it is technically possible to put a Bigsb...

Guitar music or song based music?

Hi people, I wonder, when it comes to your own music or sorting out guitar parts from your favourite guitarists, do you prefer real guitar music or songbased music with the guitar palying an comping role compared with asolo now and then? I prefer songbased music. But I must say that it is a pain sor...

Yes it's all a matter of taste. And everyone got a different taste. The basis of my effect system is the good old Boss ME-5 multi effect processor. Sounds great to me but there are people who do not like it at all.

Hi,

I have the Boss PH3. All kind of phasing effect are at your disposal. I also have a setting that comes very close to a univibe. And the unit souns very rich and warm all over. Also pretty extreme settings are possible, and even then it sounds warm and natural. Highly recommended.
