The point I'm driving at is that they make fantastic guitars for the money which surpass Mexican in my honest hands on, under the hood experience and for less money. All I'm hearing really is that there isn't a 7.25 radius or vintage fret wire on them, which these days is a niche requirement but ce...

don't create a project for the sake of it. The reason to do one is to create something you can't find (or, sometimes, afford) otherwise. A project is a solution to a problem that otherwise doesn't have a simple solution either due to availability or cost. That goes for non-guitar projects, too. By ...

yeah klusons are crimped on the base. the cover on schaller F tuners just sits over the gears and can be easily removed. early fullterton made F tuners are more firmly affixed, although I've heard some people have pulled them off with some effort. myself, once I saw how difficult they were to remove...

if you are close micing it will not matter. or the difference will be negligible anyway. if you are trying to pick up the sound in the room then you will want to use your preference for for open- or closed-back cab. you will also have to take into account the acoustics of the room. if it's a crap so...

the mu-tron pedals are cool. the old pre-boss roland pedals look cool. and yeah, the big box EHX ones. I always thought the ibanez 9 series looked cool. the 5 series was awful though, what the hell. but in the end it doesn't really matter what they look like of course. it can actually be cool if it ...

Well see, that's the thing. The lens I have is cracking good. It's 55mm and great for day to day stuff. The only downside being that it's wide open at f/3.5 which isn't that big a deal, but I suppose a quicker lens might be useful. I think I might be trying too hard to convince myself that there's ...

that's cool hurb. this girl does these really great sort of domestic photos like that. It's possible that those light leaks might not even be from the camera and just from letting 35 mm film sit around waiting to be developed which I've dealt with in a more extreme situation, ruined a lot of shots b...

yeah it only happened on that one roll. it must have gotten a hit of unusually direct sunlight or something. after that I fixed it up and I haven't had any more problems. paul: what lens do you have now? I think I saw on your flickr photos something about a 55mm nikkor? I have the 50mm series E. it'...

check out this camera I got. Canon A35 F http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8397/8705800150_a6a01642cb.jpg I've been fairly unimpressed with a lot of Canonet photos as well as Olympus Trip 35 and Yashica Electro 35 so I generally wrote off these consumer rangefinders as being kind of poor image quality. ...

this is what happens when you don't replace your light seals. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8545/8636731698_e00a79cfda_c.jpg if you have a case that the camera fits in or somehow manage to never expose the back to any direct light it will be probably be fine but it's easiest to just replace the seal...

the film speed is the actual exposure speed rating of the physical film itself. an ISO 100 film has very fine grains of a smaller amount of silver in the film emulsion, an ISO 1600 film has larger grains and larger amount of silver in the film emulsion. an ISO 1600 film is highly light sensitive and...

those are pretty cool. amazing you were able to capture that fast action with a low-ish film speed like that. the exposure looks good to me. I think a low film speed like that should be well suited to bright sunlight photography. this is kodak gold 200 in bright direct sunlight: http://farm9.staticf...
